- James and fellow Vikings UDFA Devron Harper became the second and third Mercer alums to sign with an NFL organization since the program was reinstated in 2013.
COLLEGE - GEORGIA/MERCER
- Originally attended Georgia (2019) before transferring to Mercer.
- Finished as Mercer's all-time leading receiver with 3,364 career receiving yards on 171 receptions.
- Broke the program's single-season receiving yards record in both his junior (1,105) and senior (1,130) campaigns.
- Hauled in a single-season career high 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.
- Led the SoCon in receiving yards (1,105), receiving touchdowns (13) and yards per catch (21.2) in 2022.
- His 351 receiving yards at Samford (11/19/22) were the most by any FCS player during the regular season, set SoCon single game receiving yards record and broke the school record for receiving and all-purpose yards in a game.
- Led the team in receptions (26), receiving yards (611) and receiving touchdowns (seven) in 2021 and in receptions (30) and receiving yards (518) in 2020.
- Did not see action in his lone season at Georgia, redshirting in 2019.
